Book Launch-"A Score and More: Chronicles of Change and Cheer"
We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling.” – Jimmy Neil Smith
It is a proud and joyous moment for Sarv Sahodaya, a community of progressive schools across Delhi-NCR. The stories of their educators have been published in “A Score and More: Chronicles of Change and Cheer.” This unique anthology is a collection of anecdotes from personal teaching-learning experiences, gained both inside and beyond the four walls of the classroom, as life itself is the greatest teacher. The teacher-authors were oriented and mentored by the award-winning author, Ms. Sutapa Basu. The stories underwent rigorous scrutiny by the editor, Dr. Ruchi Seth, and co-editor, Ms. Basu.
The book launch took place at the National Book Trust on Monday, 07 August 2023, and it was unveiled by Mr. Yuvraj Malik, Director of the National Book Trust. Mr. Malik emphasized the essential role of teachers in society, highlighting how their role has evolved from nation builders to creators of global citizens. He reiterated the idea that a teacher’s words are a universal truth for students and thus, teachers can be the catalysts for universal change. He also stressed the importance of reading and recommended a daily practice of 10 pages of reading, 1 page of writing, and 1 minute of speaking.
Our educators will mentor the students in their writing journeys and assist budding authors in harnessing their creative power.
